Community Futures Treaty Seven was incorporated in 1990 under the name of Treaty Seven Economic Development Corporation (T7EDC). In 2008, Treaty Seven Economic Development Corporation underwent a name change to Community Futures Treaty Seven (CFT7). The Treaty Seven Chiefs are the Shareholders of CFT7.
Each Treaty Seven Chief who holds one share of CFT7 appoints a Band Council member to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors oversees the operations and management of CFT7.
Treaty Seven’s territory includes Siksika Nation, Kainai Nation, Piikani Nation, Tsuut'ina Nation, and Stoney Nakoda Nation which encompasses Bearspaw First Nation, Wesley First Nation, and Chiniki First Nation.
CFT7’s structure allows for the integration of employment and training and economic development objectives for the maximum benefit of member communities.
